My husband and I had a wonderful time with our tour guide Kamsan from BestAngkorGuide. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything we saw, catered the itinerary to what we wanted to see and helped us see these amazing sites from optimal spots with less people. He always tried to fit in the temples when there would be less crowds. Kamsan also knew how to take the best photos and taught us tricks on our iPhones that we didn’t even know. Mr. Phirum, our driver, was also very polite and constantly provided us with cool towels and water after every temple visit! They both made the trip really fun and enjoyable and would definitely recommend them to anyone in the future!

    Fantastic Experience with private entrance

We were very lucky to book this tour and got David to guide us through the history of the Angkor Empire. On the two day tour we saw on the first day the sunrise over Angkor Wat from a private spot along with only a handful of other visitors. Far away from the masses we got the opportunity to take great pictures without the fight for a good spot. After Angkor we stopped at a few smaller temples without any other tourist and than moved on to Bayon, Ta Prohm and Banteay Srei. Every time David choose to avoid the main entrance and led us through a different way into the temple, all the while educating and entertaining us with jokes, lively history and myths about the Khmer culture and religion. He always knew the best spots to take great photo and get us privacy in these overrun tourist attractions. On day two we went to Kampong Khleang Floating village. However, on the way we had first a test to show that we listened to the lessons the day before. David asked questions and our kids couldn’t get enough of it – big fun. After that, we got a captivating accountabout the time of the Khmer Rouge and could than relax on our boat tour through the floating village. The final stop Beng Mealea was breathtaking. Again we took a way into the temple, nobody else took and so we had large parts of it just for us. We would highly recommend to book with Best Angkor Guide and ask for David as your guide.

    Book with San first!

You can’t go wrong counting on San to give you the best tour of Angkor. His attention to detail and genuine desire to make our tour exactly what we wanted made our two-day stay a memory of a lifetime.
San navigated us through the temples and floating village thoughtfully to avoid the crowds and make for the best photo opportunities. Speaking of photos, I learned more tricks and tips from him for using my iPhone camera than I have ever known before!
San is cheerful, punctual and a wealth of knowledge. He will give you as much or as little as you want to know, and not just about the sites. For two days we peppered him with questions about life in Cambodia and he generously shared his insights into and pride in his culture and country.
Each time we got back into his comfortable SUV, he offered us cold water and cold washcloths – lightly scented with essential oils – to cool down with.
We’ve already told our friends and family to put Siem Reap at the top of their bucket lists and to make sure they book their private tour with San! Thanks for a perfect two days, San!

    3 Amazing Days With Kamsan

My wife and I just spent 3 amazing days with San exploring all the must see and more attractions in the Siem Reap/Angkor Wat area. We were picked up by San and his driver in a modern luxury SUV that very spotlessly clean and in top condition. For the whole trip he had water and cool refreshing cloths for us. He took us to all the temples that we wanted to explore and also the reclining Buddha and Waterfall. San is a wealth of knowledge about the attractions and the history on his country. I should also ad that he is great at taking pictures and showed me alot of features on my phone to get the best shots. His promise of taking you the best way to avoid the crowds is 100% true. When my wife and I return next year San will be my first call to take me on another adventure in his country. We can not say enough about San except to as that he is a kind, passionate man that loves his job, and his country, and loves to teach people about it.

Mr. Kamsan, the best guide you can have!

It’s a pleasure to have Mr. Kamsan with us for the 2 days day trip. We were picked up very punctually with a luxury car, a thing that is really appreciative in this hot and rainy season. Mr. Kamsan has a wide vast of knowledge and often feeding us with lots of information on the Angkor histories. A thing that is definitely unachievable if you are doing the tour on your own.
Mr. Kamsan would always do his best to bring us off the beaten trail to avoid the crowds. Many times during the tour, he would crack little jokes to liften up the mood despite the hot and humid weather.
With his recommendation, we changed our sunset destination from Baking hill to floating village which was a fantastic and different kind of sunset that you would see. The view was something that you wouldn’t forget. Mr Kamsan is also very flexible with the schedule, often asking us if we would like to see additional temples along the way. The itinerary was very well paced and planned in such a way that there is no rushing and we have plenty time for photo-takings. And Mr. Kamsan has fantastic photo-taking skills, taking many fabulous photos for me and my sister.
Our driver, Mr Phirum, is always on the go on giving us cold water and cold towel. Both of them are always smiling and always so friendly.

    Excellent Tour and Excellent Guide

We had an amazing time with Kamsan as our guide. He expertly picked up on the pace we were looking for, providing just the right amount of information about each of the temples we visited. He was able to guide us away from the bulk of the crowds so we were able to admire the beautiful architecture and not feel rushed by the mass of tourists. We highly recommend him.

Eine unvergessliche Tour mit dem besten Tourguide
    Google Translation

Review of Best Angkor Guide – Day Tours

We had waited a long time to fulfill our dream of visiting Angkor National Park, and a good guide was extremely important to us. Don’t look any further – Kamsan is superb and always has his clients’ wishes in mind. We had three full days of guiding with him and it was absolutely perfect. He does a great job in choosing the best sites and arranges the tour to arrive at the least busy times when possible. It was all perfect – and he is not only a great guide, but just alot of fun to spend time with! We (our whole group of 7) highly, highly recommend Kamsan. And we strongly suggest you offer to buy lunch for Kamsan and his wonderful driver – we learned it is not often done, but is greatly appreciated. They certainly deserve this small offering to show your gratitude – and also give a BIG tip! You are getting sooo much for your money, most of which is paid for entry fees, etc. A big thank you to Kamsan for making our trip to Angkor so much more than we could have expected. And thanks to his wife for providing the lovely scented cold towels – it was very much appreciated as well!

Seeing Angkor Wat for seniors past their best fitness and everyone
Mr Kamsan responded quickly and effectively to our booking. I am 75 years old and have a leg problem but had always wanted to see these temples. Mr Kamsan was more than willing to tailor the tour to my needs and wants. He was also extremely willing to assist me finding the easiest routes to ascend temples with his support. He has a very extensive knowledge of the history of the area and his own life experience is also very interesting. He chose good times to see each temple to avoid the extreme group crowds around at this time of year. In one case we were alone with birdsong in the jungle. An amazing experience, very moving. We saw a good range of temples, exquisite carvings.

We also went on a boat tour of Tonse Lap, again without crowds, saw the butterfly park and the landmine museum. When I expressed an interest in schools as I am a retired teacher he took me to a shop to buy cambodian reading books at local prices and we visited a poor primary school in the country to present them to their library. His rationale was agaihst me buying pens and pencils because it would cause jealousy amongst those who didnt get them so a school present would be better. I completely agreed with his suggestion.
We had an extremely comfortable air conditioned car with an excellent driver. It was so nice for me coming back out of the heat exhausted to cold towels and water.
I also wanted to buy a paper mache lacquerwork elephant as a birthday present to myself. They were difficult to find but Mr Kaksan went to great lengths taking me around different places until I found one that satisfied me. There was absolutely no cutback for him anywhere, he was just wanting to satisfy a client.
I highly recommend him in every way possible. We took a third day with him and even though he was busy himself he provided his driver on a half day to see the sunrise.

The booking process was straightforward, and Kamsan was quite responsive from the onset. Both guide and driver were waiting for us as we exited the airport with a happy smile and jovial spirit. The car was comfortable and air conditioned. Our driver, Kosal, provided us with cold water regularly and with cold towels to combat the brutal heat and humidity. we were so happy to book Kamsan for the private tour. We had a luxurious car to take us around to different places and upon return to the car, we had fresh cold tours to cool us down!! Kamsan was so patient, knowledgeable .. and I leant so much from the worldly experience he gained over the many years he gained from meeting different people in his job. We visited Beng Melea, Kulen Mountain and instead of kamphong Phluk we visited Tonle sap as suggested by Kamsan. I was so glad Kamsan made the suggestion to go to Tonle Sap as I heard prior to our tour from a local that water level was low and muddy and children would not have enjoyed the boat trip with muddy water splashing on us to my original plan. Kamsanwas also very good at taking us to different spots for family photos. Overall. I recommend him highly- he is very reliable, trustworthy, and answers your email promptly

Excellent day-tour of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples
Our party of two booked a last-minute tour with Kamsan visiting the Big Four temples in the Angkor Wat complex as well as the Lady Temple. We were very happy that he had availability for us. Before the tour, Kamsan was quick to respond to all of our correspondence. On the day of the tour, he was present at our hotel punctually at 7:30 AM like we had agreed on, with a private car ready to go immediately.

Throughout the tour, Kamsan was a delightful mix of informative and joking. We were surprised by how much we had learned without ever feeling like we were being lectured to. It was quite a hot day despite starting the tour early, and our driver Mr. Sal was consistently very prompt at handing out cold towels and cold water to refresh ourselves as we drove between temples. Mr. Sal drove safely and efficiently and was always ready to go when we had completed visiting a temple.

Kamsan often brought us through back entrances purposefully to avoid the crowds and with excellent timing such that it was a pleasure to be exiting temples as the masses of people were just entering. His recommendations for the best locations and angles for taking pictures were well-appreciated.

Overall, this is an excellent and high-quality tour offered by Kamsan and Mr. Sal, very reasonably priced given the high level of service we received, and we strongly recommend it to anyone looking to get the most out of visiting the Angkor Wat complex, especially if you have limited time in Siem Reap or lack the will to do the research yourself.

    Highlight of our trip!!

We were unsure whether we should hire a private tour guide for Angkor Wat. It’s a considerable amount of stress making the decision when you are coming from so far away to know what the best option is for taking in this most amazing place. We are ELATED that we chose to go with Kamsan and his tour company! He has obviously had a lot of experience with guiding people and it showed! Pickup was smooth and punctual. He had a great itinerary planned for us and our individual needs. He knew exactly when large groups were arriving so as to help us avoid them! He took great pictures. He was very knowledgable on each temple. His English was SUPERB! He gave us time at each temple to explore on our own at our leisure. He never rushed us. He found us a nice place for lunch with AC and WiFi which was great. We hit so many great spots and highlights that we never would have been able to on our own. On the whole, just an EXCEPTIONAL experience at a great value. I would without a doubt recommend him to anyone coming to Cambodia. I think having a tour guide at Angkor is extremely useful..it is an immense complex and requires some knowledge on how to navigate. Moreover, having a local guide who knows the ins and outs on avoiding large crowds is worth its weight in gold…we had some of the temples almost completely to ourselves which was awesome. Can’t say enough about what an awesome experience this was and Kamsan made all the difference for us! Just a pleasure!

    Kamsan: Personable & Historic!

Kamsan was a wonderful tour guide and provided his knowledge of each place we went to, made sure we were away from the crowds, that we were cooled off the whole time (with cold towels), and took care of our every needs. He is so personable! I would highly recommend him to anyone! Great job and thank you for the great 3 days of touring!!!

    Amazing tour!!

We booked a one day tour and had a great experience. Our tour guide Bun knew the best places to go to avoid crowds, told us a lot of information, spoke very good English, and also was a great photographer. The van was perfect and had AC, cold towels and cold water. We had a great time! Thank you!

    Wonderful excursion to the Angkor

We had a wonderful 2-days private tour with the Best Angkor Guide.

Our first day was with Kam San for the Big Tour. He spoke excellent english and is very informative. He shared with us loads of stories about the temples and told us a lot about the daily lives in Cambodian. We really enjoy the informative tour with such a good tour guide.

Our second day was with Mr. Bun for the Small Tour. He is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the temples. He tells the stories about the temples in details and in a humorous way. He also know the best spot to take picture. He is highly passionate about his job. He is not only an excellent tour guide but also an excellent photographer.

Our drive Mr. Phirum is also very Mr. Phirum is also very professional. He was so sweet and offer us cool water and tower after our sweaty walks in the temples.

In short, it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend the Best Angkor Guide for those who wanna visit the Angkor.

Where do I begin? There’s a reason he’s rated so highly. Kamsan is professional, knowledgeable, and experienced. The Small Circuit Day 1 tour and Thousand Linga Day 2 tour that we booked had ENORMOUS value.

Kamsan arranged the tour and navigated us in a way to avoid the dreaded crowds. He pointed out things we never would have noticed. He shared history and stories in an engaged and enthusiastic way. He also took amazing photos of us and shared them later. He’s a really good photographer. He also helped book a Aspara dance performance for us. Kamsan truly made our trip memorable.

I also want to point out another key point. You’ll ride in an air conditioned SUV and you’ll be given a small water bottle and a cold scented towel each time you come back to the car. It may sound small, but this saved us from the heat (and possibly heat stroke).

TL/DR: Book the tour with Kamsan, you won’t regret it.
